The ultimate tuning and development tool - the Dynapack chassis dynamometer, capable
of measuring 1,100hp and 220mph ground speed with critical engine data gathered for
every single engine revolution.
Our dynamometer is the central hub of our tuning activity, allowing us to tune and
develop with total accuracy and control. Dynapack is an internationally known and
respected chassis dynamometer, owned and used by some of the largest names in the
industry.
Power to achieve - The greatest strength of our dynamometer lay with its ability
to rapidly prototype and develop power enhancing products, an established baseline
power figure is measured and verified, and then used for reference as components
are designed and tested on the car. We don’t believe in sensationalist power claims,
instead we rely on hard facts, produced in a controlled and scientific manner by
the most accurate equipment available.
Engine Management Calibration - As well as development purposes, our dynamometer
is put to use for engine management system tuning - it is ideally equipped to perform
this task with fast access to load control parameters to simulate various types of
road and track conditions - while its internal super-fast and accurate laboratory
grade air/fuel ratio meters ensure essential fuelling information is passed to the
operator. We are able to map the vast majority of modern engine management systems
from the most popular manufacturers, including HKS Fcon, MoTeC, Link, GEMS, Hondata,
Emerald - to name only a few. We are also in a position to map a number of standard
manufacturer management systems.
The Future - We are also using our dynamometer for alternative fuel research, including
the use of E85 and hybrid electric power, to better our environment.
The Dynapack Advantage - Dynapack is different to a conventional “roller” based dynamometer.
Its superb accuracy and repeatability comes from its method of coupling to the vehicle.
Rather than the driven wheels turning a vast roller in the ground (or twin rollers
in a metal assembly) via its tyres - Dynapack requires the wheels be removed and
an adapter fitted to the vehicles hubs, which in turn allow the Dynapack to be attached
to the vehicle in a totally secure manner. Unlike a “roller”, the car is quite literally
fixed to the Dynamometer, instead of simply resting upon it. No wheel spin, no drama,
just total consistency and control.
Precision Control - The direct mounting to the hubs brings the precision control
levels of an engine dynamometer, yet with the convenience of a rolling road. Thanks
to superbly engineered electro-hydraulic load control, engine speed can be controlled
to the precision of a single RPM, while high speed data acquisition systems log all
critical engine parameters for each single RPM point, vast amounts of data can be
generated and analysed even from a single 15 second power run.
3D Diagrams Right: 3D diagram of the Dynapack system, red/black boxes are the Dynapack
“pods”, one is connected to each driven hub of the vehicle. The green shaft represents
the drive-line of vehicle being tested (Front or Rear wheel drive), Yellow is the
power source, either Petrol or Diesel internal combustion engine, or modern hybrid
electric motor. Dynapacks support the full weight of the vehicle once connected.
